Mashtots Park kiosks are being dismantled.

Dismantling of controversial kiosks built in Yerevan's Mashtots Park started on Wednesday, following Mayor Taron Margaryan's order issued earlier today.
Environmental activists and the police officers headed by Yerevan deputy chief of police Robert Melkonyan are present in the dismantling works in the park.
This came after Serzh Sargsyan, together with the municipal authorities, visited the park on Tuesday where he announced that the ‘appearance is not nice'.
Environmental and civil activists have been staging protests for 80 days now, demanding that the kiosks be removed from the park. Sargsyan visited Mashtots Park just two days after the most serious clashes between the protesters and riot police.
Earlier, the municipal authorities said that the kiosks will stand in the park for up 2-3 years, without damaging the nearby trees.
