The mother of serviceman Suren Kirakosyan today attempted suicide by throwing herself under the wheels of Serzh Sargsyan's car.
Kirakosyan, who is in an isolation cell in the "Goris" penitentiary institution, has gone on hunger strike.
Zvart Kirakosyan says her 23-year-old started the hunger-strike on April 5, demanding to appoint a forensic examination.
"My son does not avoid military service, he only wants to be properly treated before continuing his service," said the desperate mother.
Zvart Kirakosyan says her son was not fit for service and had the right not to join the army. Suren was called up for military service in 2009. The mother says her son's health condition deteriorated during the service, making him escape the barracks.
Zvart Kirakosyan today was outside the presidential residents with her relatives, calling Serzh Sargsyan's attention to her son's health condition.
"Should Mr Sargsyan meet our demand, we are ready to vote for his Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) during the Sunday parliamentary elections," said Mrs Zvart.
