New details about the incident in Yerevan’s Republic Square: 144 people taken to hospital.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied by Armenia’s Minister of Health Harutyun Kushkyan, has arrived at the Nairi medical center.

About two dozen people injured during an incident in Yerevan’s Republic Square were brought to the medical center.

During a concert organized by Armenia’s ruling party, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), numerous gas balloons caught fire.
Dozens of people got burns.

The concert ended ahead of schedule.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports 144 people injured. Thirty of them were transported to the Center of Burns, 20 to the Armenia medical center, nine to Hospital #1, 20 to the Nairi medical center, 20 to Heratsi hospital #1, five to the Muratsan medical center. Also, two children were transported to the Surb Astvatsamair maternity center.
