A tragedy occurred during the Republican Party of Armenia’s rally held at the Square on Friday. Hundreds of balloons filled with helium gas exploded and started to burn. Subsequently, these balloons’ melted rubber fell on the rally participants. And those near the stage were affected the most. 144 casualties are reported.
Armenian Police Chief, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan called a meeting regarding the balloon blast in Yerevan’s Republican Square on Friday, minutes ago after the accident.
The Police Chief called to the police officers to work the whole night in order to figure out all the circumstances of the explosion.
