Tigran Mukuchyan, chairman of the Armenian Central Election Commission (CEC) said 1982 polling stations have been formed in the republic, of which 7 in penitentiary establishments. The polling stations opened to voters at 8 am. They are due to close at 8 pm.
In Nubarashen penitentiary establishment the polls will start from 10 am, in the rest the voting will open from 5 pm.
Mukuchyan said all the election commissions are working normally. Asked about the vanishing stamps, the CEC chairman said it was a technical problem which has already been solved. 'Shake the inkpot before using it!', he mentioned.
The CEC will inform about the voters’ turnout every three hours. The CEC will also report over the voting processes.
To note, the Central Electoral Commission has given a new instruction to precinct commissions after the stamps in voters' passports disappeared in 15 minutes.
After 10 a.m. passports will be stamped with ink that doesn't run out at all. We remind that according to the order, the stamp in passports should disappear in 12 hours.
