Statement of Armenian National Congress (HAK) candidate Avet Poghosyan's election headquarters at precinct N 6:
"The May 6 NA elections were embarrassing not only at precinct N 6, but across the country as well. The widespread electoral bribes, the use of administrative resources, the overt pressures on voters' expression of will, the artificial lines at polling stations and the creation of an opportunity for a broad field for electoral violations, the discrepancies and the large number of invalid ballots described these elections.
The results of the vote at precinct N 6 don't reflect the desires, notions and the election of residents in the Ajapnyak district.
The government that forms as a result of such measures can't serve its people. This is not the government of our people. If the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) views this as a victory, it is only their victory at the price of the people.
We express gratitude to the Ajapnyak territorial structure of the Armenian National Congress and all the members of the structure and proxies for their unconditional service, as well as to all those citizens who fought to keep citizens' votes at the polling stations and outside during the election campaign and on the day of the vote.
We also thank all the citizens that weren't repressed by the government's crackdown and either voted freely for the opposition or annulled the ballots that they had been given in order to express their protest against the embarrassing elections.
There is no alternative to social relations hinged on human liberties and dignity and a government established as a result of that. Armenia must and will have a government that is truly legitimate and is accountable to the people. We will continue our struggle as long as citizens of Armenia don't have a legitimate government."
