Rumors about a powerful earthquake waiting to hit Armenia are inaccurate - RA MES.

On May 7 at 08:40 local time, the seismological network of the National Service for Seismic Defense at the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake with a 5.9 magnitude just 28 km northwest from Sheki city in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The force of the earthquake at the epicenter was 8 points.
The earthquake was felt in the territory of Armenia with a force of 3-4 points.
On the same day at 18:15, an aftershock with a 5.6 magnitude and a force of 7-8 points took place just 28 km northwest from Sheki village in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The earthquake was felt in Armenia with a force of 3-4 points, particularly 3 points in Yerevan.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that the rumors about a powerful earthquake waiting to hit Armenia are inaccurate.
"We call on people to be calm and not pay attention to false rumors. To this day, no scientist or seismic service has been able to make a quick prediction of an earthquake, that is, the precise time, place and force of the earthquake," as stated in the MES press release.
