Even counter-arguments brought up by the RPA don't convince people that the elections weren't falsified - Leader of "New Times" Party.

Leader of "New Times" Party Aram Karapetyan says the results of the May 6 parliamentary elections are figures that have nothing to do with the real results.
According to him, even the counter-arguments brought up by the winning Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) don't convince people that the elections weren't falsified.
Aram Karapetyan says he still doubts that the existing coalition parties garnered 80 percent of the votes.
"The more they pressure the people, the higher the level of poverty and emigration and the more votes they get."
Nevertheless, Aram Karapetyan says the results of the elections were more than predictable and were the fruit of previously made agreements.
"Perhaps those agreements weren't implemented to a certain extent, but as the international observers usually say, those violations didn't have an impact on the overall image," said Karapetyan, adding that there will be a price to pay for this at the international level.
Aram Karapetyan says the configuration established as a result of the elections is interesting in that the political parties that were against the Turkey-Armenia Protocols retreated.
"The Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) garnered 100,000 votes less than it had in the previous elections, "Heritage" Party joined the Free Democrats, and the figures of "Heritage" Party that made it to the National Assembly prevail those who had also been against the Protocols signed in Zurich," said Karapetyan.
According to him, the West has designed a geopolitical plan for the region, which assumes the unconditional opening of the Armenian-Turkish border and a resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"It is clear that Armenia's interior political system has to be in such a way so that that plan turns into a reality, and the current Armenian authorities are very appropriate for that."
As far as the likelihood of protests against the results of the elections on the streets is concerned, according to Aram Karapetyan, that will be fruitful only if Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) come out to the streets as well. If not, the Armenian National Congress (HAK) won't have enough resources.
"The people don't see differences. They only see the games that different opposition parties are playing with different pro-government parties. That is why the opposition is in apathy," said Aram Karapetyan in closing.
