Iditord website received nearly 1,062 alerts from citizens during the May 6 parliamentary elections, even though the website had been hacked after being closed for a couple of hours. Iditord website coordinator Samvel Martirosyan had trouble saying who could have ordered the hack.
"Everyone is a suspect, besides the United Armenians Party. It could have been organized by the internal and external political forces, but we managed to get back on our feet before the end of the elections," said Martirosyan.
On May 6, Iditord received several alerts over electoral violations, bribery, accumulations, the oxidization of stamp ink and the illegal acts of electoral commissions.
"We are still receiving alerts over electoral violations. More than half of them took place in Yerevan and the nearby areas, then Gyumri, Vanadzor and Armavir," said one of the coordinators, Head of Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center NGO Sona Ayvazyan.
The speakers mentioned that the Ministry of Defense worked efficiently on May 6.
"The Ministry of Defense gave an adequate response to each alert and responded to each violation. There was some kind of a show before the elections that the National Assembly would establish a committee to fight against the electoral violations. They simply had to do that," said Sona Ayvazyan.
