"On May 3, 2012, the RA Police declared that several trials were taking place as prescribed by the RA legislation with the purpose of giving a preliminary legal evaluation of the actions committed by individuals during the events that took place at Mashtots Park in Yerevan on April 29.
Taking into account the importance of ensuring the transparency of the legal process, the RA Police informs that within the framework of the legal procedure established by the RA legislation on criminal procedure in relation to the registered facts, among the more than a dozen forensic medicine examinations, the police have received explanations from the direct participants, have received and have studied the reproductive recordings of the events on that day, as well as necessary documents and other materials for the proceeding.
As a result of the analysis and evaluation of the data, on 8 May 2012 the RA Police Kentron division in Yerevan took the decision to instigate a case under Article 316 (1) of the RA Criminal Code in relation to the application of force that didn't put the lives of the police officers at risk.
