The RPA to form coalition with force supporting incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan - Karine Atchemyan.

Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will form a coalition with a political force which will state its support to incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, RPA MP Karine Atchemyan expressed her opinion at a news conference today.

‘We are not constrained as we are a majority but the forces that will back our president, our candidate will form a coalition with us. Of course, it is my personal opinion, but it is quite logical,’ the MP said.

Karine Atchemyan said in any case she considers formation of coalition a necessity, but added that it should not be an end in itself.

She said she is not aware whether the Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) will back the incumbent president and offered to ask the PAP, adding that not much time has been left and soon all will learn about it.

The RPA MP also stressed that the discussions will show who will be the prime minister.

Karine Atchemyan said she sees herself more in legislative body than in the executive.
