The Armenian National Congress (HAK) decided to participate in the May 6 parliamentary elections after it received the unanimous consent of the parties and NGOs affiliated with the opposition bloc, Armenia's First President and HAK leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan told A1+.
Asked whether HAK members Stepan Demirchyan and Lyudmila Sargsyan are going to waive their mandates and what lies behind the allegations, the HAK leader said, "We have not taken any decision regarding the number of HAK representatives in the National Assembly. Nor have we considered the issue of putting down mandates. The allegations are false, given the behavior of the pro-government media which are obviously used by the government as propaganda machine. It shows that the authorities are so worried by HAK's representation in parliament that they are doing their utmost to split the alliance, but let me notice that all their endeavors are doomed to failure."
