There is a volatile situation in Armenia, New Times Party Chairman Aram Karapetyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.
In his words, the air around the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is being squeezed all the more in the foreign policy domain, and the US considerations toward opening of the Armenian-Turkish border will be added to this, too. As per Karapetyan, Armenia’s socioeconomic condition likewise bespeaks the volatile situation, and he noted that if all this were to accumulate, the situation could explode.
To the question as to who will lead the people in the case of such development, the New Times Party leader responded by saying that, according to him, it will be that political force which did not run in the May 6 parliamentary elections—that is to say, the New Times Party.
Also, Aram Karapetyan announced that he definitely will nominate his candidacy for the country’s presidential elections slated for February 2013. And he added that a revolution can be carried out by those forces which are outside the circle of Armenia’s three presidents.
