The May 6 parliamentary elections reinforced the positions of the incumbent president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, making him the head of the situation for the coming five years, National Self-Determination Union party leader Paruyr Hayrikyan told reporters today.
Speaking about Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan, Hayrikyan said: “He is another individual who was dreaming not to become young pensioner but have realized that it is the best variant for him. Do you remember him saying he was not going to become a young pensioner?”
As to what the elections gave to the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Hayrikyan said; “He understood that his song has been sung, or more rightly to say, his dance has been danced.”
According to him, the presidential elections will not have any significance as the parliament decides everything.
The fact that Armenia’s ruling Republican party has received the majority in the parliament demonstrates who heads the situation.
Analyzing the post-electoral positions, the NSDU leader said the Heritage and Prosperous Armenia parties have proved that they are consolidated units.
