PAP considers it inexpedient to take part in the formation of a coalition government - PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan`s statement.
Political
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan issued a statement Thursday and announced that the PAP considers it inexpedient to take part in the formation of a coalition government in the country. The statement is presented below:
"Dear Compatriots,
Brothers and sisters,
At the 6th congress of "Prosperous Armenia" party the basis of my and my teammates speeches was the idea of the need of significant changes in the life of our country and people.
Throughout the pre-election campaign we were performing from the same positions. PAP presented to the people a comprehensive program. In all my meetings I have declared that entering into politics I’m not pursuing private gain. More, I have announced that I’m ready to incur losses, but the sacred trust of the people will be saved. As a result of parliamentary elections, "Prosperous Armenia" party has received nearly half a million votes. These people voted for the PAP, trusting us and demanding real, visible changes in the socio-economic life.
As a result of the election PAP does not have constitutional possibility to form government and to implement its programs. Based on the above, I officially declare that "Prosperous Armenia" party is not advisable to participate in the formation of a coalition government.
PAP will continue to play a significant role in the political life of our country. We will have strictly constructive and balanced role and participation in social and political life.
In the National Assembly PAP will have very active and working faction. I promise that our deputies will always stay close to the people, by all possible means will protect the rights and interests of our citizens.
I sincerely wish good luck and productive work to new emerging government of Armenia, for the benefit of our people and country."
