"The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is ready to take responsibility for governance," said RPA press speaker Edward Sharmazanov after the session held by the party's executive body.
"We respect the decisions of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) and other political parties," said Sharmazanov. Sharmazanov said he didn't have any comments regarding the PAP leader's statement. When asked if that statement came as a surprise to him or not, Sharmazanov said there were no surprises in politics and that everything has to be calculated. The speaker suggested asking the PAP if the coalition memorandum supporting Serzh Sargsyan's nomination in the 2013 presidential elections was still in effect or not. As for collaboration with the "Country of Law" Party, the RPA press speaker said the collaboration would continue, but didn't say whether that would be within the framework of the coalition or not. When asked about the distribution of offices during the session, Sharmazanov said there had not been any discussion on the distribution of offices and portfolios. Sharmazanov also informed that everything would be clearer after the party's last session on May 31 and added that the Republicans would hold the offices of Chairman of the National Assembly and Prime Minister.
