The comprehensive schools in Armenia are celebrating the traditional annual graduation ceremony on Friday.
Of the 40,000 school-leavers this year, 10,000 are reported to be from capital Yerevan.
All the schools will hold the traditional “last bell” ceremony in the morning. At 6:00 pm Yerevan time, Yerevan’s Liberty Square will host a five-hour festive concert which will end in a firework.
The police had earlier warned parents and school teachers to be attentive to the young graduates and avoid trusting cars on this day to prevent tensions or undesired incidents.
The Yerevan City Hall has said in a statement that the police and firefighting teams will maintain duty on the square throughout the day.
