Hmayak Hovhannisyan issues a statement.
Political
Politologists’ Union of Armenia Chairman Hmayak Hovhannisyan who, despite being ninth in the Prosperous Armenia Party’s proportional election list and being voted in as a deputy, submitted an MP-mandate-withdrawal petition. And, now, he issued a statement to his voters in this regard.
“By actively running in the 2012 parliamentary elections, I am elected Armenian National Assembly MP by your fair votes. But the calculations made after the elections show that the ‘vote fetchers’ are not the public political figures, but rather the money distributing ‘selects.’
Your humble servant has not made any monetary contribution during the elections, and [therefore] it would have been ‘incorrect’ for me to enter the Parliament.
Such are the rules of the game in our Armenia of today. So, I am obligated to renounce the parliamentary mandate and announce my withdrawal.
[But] I will try to justify this confidence [you have given me] by working with you, alongside [one another],” Hmayak Hovhannisyan’s statement specifically reads.
