Yerevan mayor says no construction allowed in Covered Market.

The Yerevan City Hall has not sanctioned any construction work on the territory of the Covered Market, Mayor Taron Margaryan has said in his Facebook page.

According to the mayor, the owner of the territory has undertaken the construction to reinforce several structures facing the threat of collapse.

Margaryan says a group of experts from the City Hall and the Ministry of Culture have conducted studies in the market to determine future steps. The mayor promises that their conclusions and future activities will be made public in an appropriate manner.
