State Secretary Hilary Clinton paid a working visit to Armenia today.
Welcoming the guest, the leader of the Republic stated, “You are always an expected guest in Armenia. This year we are celebrating 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the USA. I am happy to state that our relations have been developing during these 20 years and are currently at the highest level ever. Of course, relations between our nations go deep into the history and I can state proudly that not only close relations between our nations and the vast Armenian community of the USA contributed to the development of close relations but the ideas of freedom, justice and democracy.
I am happy that these relations are based on mutual respect and confidence and we can always freely discuss an issue regarding either side. We truly appreciate the role of the USA in our region.
I would like to express my gratitude once more to the USA for your ongoing support and contribution to Armenia during these 20 years. Welcome to Armenia.”
US State Secretary said, “Mr. President, it’s a great honor for me to be present in Armenia at 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the USA and Armenia. USA has been closely cooperating with Armenia during the last 20 years. President Obama and I attach great value to these relations. I am perfectly aware of your contribution to the resolution of regional issues. We expect this dialogue to continue. The USA is going to support your continuous activities as a great leader.
And, of course, I am glad that the weather is sunny. We were in Arctic and Far North and my colleagues and I are glad to see such sunny and wonderful weather in Yerevan.”
