Eduard Sharmaznov Responds Davutoghlu
Armenia
Yesterday the Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkey Ahmed Davutoghlu made an “epochal” statement, which reads, “when Armenia removes its troops from the occupied territories it will become possible to establish relations with them as well.”
Turkey continues to stubbornly ignore its international obligations and blemishes the reality. This once again proves that Turkey and European integration cannot be synonyms. For the information of the leaders of the eastern and western neighbors of Armenia I’d like to mention that there are occupied territories and it should be the Turkish and Azerbaijani troops that should be removed from there. By refreshing the memory of the Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister let me say that his country has occupied the northern part of Cyprus and Azerbaijan occupied Shahumyan, Getashen, Martunashen territories of Karabakh.
I find the ultimatums of Turkey unacceptable and once again reiterate that we are committed to reaching our national goals.
