Chairman of Yerkrapah Union (YU): YU Ready 24/7

On the last days defenders of our fatherland and one civilian have become victims of the provocations levied on the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani-NKR frontlines. I’d like to extend my condolences on behalf of YU to the families of the perished, their mothers, friends, the Minister of Defense and commanders. Meanwhile, I’d like to assure that the shed blood of our sons was not in vain. They protected the peace and stability of our country. They fell for the fatherland and thus are sainted.

As of the Azerbaijani provocations, then I should say that they long ago had the purpose to empty Artsakh from Armenians. That is the reason why they organized the Sumgaiit manslaughter back in 1988.

The Azerbaijani provocations of the recent days have a few goals. The only fact that these actions are launched on the days when OSCE officials or other international organizations’ representatives are visiting the region, gives us grounds to assume that they are trying to use blackmailing methods. The Azeris are trying to make the international community understand the necessity of rushing the conflict resolution based on the principle of territorial integrity, otherwise they threaten to resume military actions. The second goal is to impact the moral-psychological plight of the Armenian army and terrorizing the populations of Armenia and NKR.

I am sure that these provocations cannot serve their purpose. It is not possible to force the international community take actions through these miserable methods. Moreover, it’s impossible to scare the Armenian soldier and the Armenian nation. They perfectly remember their provoked war and their losses as a result.

YU stands right next to the Armenian army, next to the people of Armenia and Artsakh. I assure that the Azeris are scared of the Armenian people, the Armenian army and our spirit. As in 1989-1994 the Azeris left on the battle field 30,000 soldiers and Armenians – 6000, now as well they sacrifice dozen of soldiers for the death of one Armenian. The only difference is that the leadership of Azerbaijan doesn’t care about the lives of its soldiers and only cares about political adventures. For us the life of each soldier is valuable. YU also requests the people to be more vigilant and unified. Every Armenian should be standing next to Artsakh and the soldier on the border. We should help to fix the problems existing in the army and avoid criticism instead. Our army needs the support and cherishing of the nation. Trust the army, trust the Armenian soldier, trust yourselves and your sons. I assure you on behalf of the reserve officers and soldiers that we are ready to serve the fatherland and the state 24/7. Together we will be able to guarantee independence, security and territorial integrity of Armenia and Artsakh.
