Ankara Has No Intention to Recognize Presidency of Republic of Cyprus in Euro Union
World
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmed Davutoghlu announced that Ankara has no intention to recognize presidency of Republic of Cyprus in Euro Union.
He noted that his country will continue cooperation with regional organization, but will not attend any event organized by the representative of Cyprus.
Associated Press informs that the Minister of Foreign Affairs stated about it at a press conference which hosted High Representative of European Commission Catherin Ashton and the Chair holder of European Neighborhood Policy Stephen Fluen.
It should be noted that Turkey has been sparing no effort to enter into Euro Union, however this process doesn’t seem to develop anyhow. Currently, the main disagreement between EU and Turkey is the status of Cyprus, the recognition of the Republic of Cyprus. The latter is considered EU full member, since 2004.
