The Armenian-Polish Committee addressed an open letter to Martin Schultz and Herman Van Rompuy in regard of the recent attempts of violation of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan.
Open letter:
Honorable Mr. Martin Schultz and Mr. Herman Van Rompuy,
On behalf of the Armenian-Polish Committee and Polish-Armenians we express our concerns and demand your clear standpoint in regard of the periodic violations of the ceasefire on part of Azerbaijan. During the last week, Azerbaijan has severely violated the ceasefire mode on the contact lines of Tavoush marz of Armenia and Armenian-Azerbaijani border of Artsakh. The Azerbaijani military opened fire in the direction of Chinar, Voskepar, Chambarak villages and territories of Horadiz and Fizuli, and Azerbaijani diversion recon groups have used drones.
Due to the preventative actions of the Armenian army all the diversion attempts of Azerbaijan were deterred and the opponent was driven back after leaving victims on the battlefield. Unfortunately, this adventurous and criminal behavior of Aliyev clan took away the lives of three of our soldiers; six soldiers were wounded and the peaceful routine of the civilians was violated. The provocative actions of Azerbaijan apparently preach the stability of the region, which contradicts the EU policies – to regulate conflicts without the use of force and in conditions of the right of self-determination of nations.
European Armenians condemn these criminal actions and call on the EU and the international community to apply sanctions to prevent the war threats and cynicism of Azerbaijan. The provocative actions of Azerbaijan are dangerous for the whole world.
