“Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun”: Contradictions Between Karen Karapetyan and Maxim Hakobyan

According to CHI daily, for a quite long time Zangezur Mining and Armenia Molybdenum Production companies, which own 12,5 stocks each in Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Plant, have contradictions with each other. Conflict of interests has been created between the co-owners of the mentioned companies Karen Karapetyan and Maxim Hakobyan, mainly due to the global economic crisis. They say that the interests of the two businessmen have collided because of the volumes of export. 80% of their production is shipped to Europe and 20% to Asia.

Also, the Director of Armenia Production Karen Karapetyan, who has previously worked in the law-enforcement, currently has very close relations with RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. And it’s no accident that one of the relatives of the Prime Minister holds a very serious post in this organization. And it would be really spare to speak about the connections of Maxim Hakobyan because he probably has great relations with everyone except for the governor of Syunik Suren Khachatryan. Nonetheless, CHI has succeeded in finding out further information about the tension of relations only from Karen Karapetyan, who as a response to the question of the newspaper said, “Oh no. What contradictions? There is nothing like that. Where do you get such information from? Don’t do such things, don’t report about that and try not to demean us.”
