Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with Minister of Culture of Bulgaria

Issues on intercultural communication were discussed during the meeting of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Minister of Culture of Bulgarian Vezhdi Rashidov.
Welcoming the guest, the mayor briefed on capital's history and stressed that Armenian-Bulgarian relations are on the high level. Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministries of Culture of the two countries will serve as grounds for the expansion of intercultural relations between Yerevan and Bulgarian cities.
"Our people have historical and spiritual common grounds, and I am sure, our cooperation will be more efficiently enhanced by concrete programs. Yerevan Municipality is always open and ready to implement joint projects," said Yerevan Mayor and adding that Yerevan and Sofia are partner cities and its proof is the tufa-built statue in "Yerevan" Park, Bulgaria which symbolizes Armenia.
Thanking for warm reception, Bulgarian Culture Minister emphasized the importance of joint programs aimed at preservation of national and cultural values. Vezhdi Rashidov, anticipating the support of the Yerevan Mayor, asked to put up the play "12th Night" by well-known Bulgarian-Armenian film director Grigor Azaryan in Yerevan.
The parties also discussed various intercultural communication related issues and agreed on mutual visits.
