RPA, ANC and PAP Had Most Coverage by Ten Wesbites

Today, during a meeting with journalists the President of the Journalists for the Future NGO Suren Deheryan presented the results of monitoring of the coverage provided by online media sources during the period of the May 6 parliamentary elections.

Ten online sources were monitored - 1in.am, 7or.am, A1plus.am, Azatutyun.am, Civilnet.tv (am), Lragir.am, News.am, Tert.am, Panarmenian.net, Panorama.am. The selection of websites was done based on the rating results of circle.am rating system and surveys conducted among media experts. All the publications and postings of these websites, which related to the 9 political parties nominated for parliamentary elections and the top three candidates on their proportional lists, had been monitored.

In total, during the period of April 8-May 20, 2012, 8,156 publications were recorded and monitored, where parties were mentioned 18,288 times. Moreover, after the completion of the campaign, from May 5 till 20, only 2,787 publications were posted and there were 6,902 referrals to political parties (alliances).

On all the websites, RPA, ANC and PAP had the highest quantitative ranking.
