Second Round of Presidential Elections of Egypt Kicked off

The second round of the presidential elections kicked off in Egypt. It will last two days. After the fall of Mubarak’s regime, for the first time Egyptians are electing a president through democratic elections, reports BBC Russia.
Two candidates run for the second round – Mohamed Mursi, candidate of the Muslim Brothers Party and Ahmed Shafik, former ally of Mubarak and former Prime Minister of Egypt. The two candidates won the majority of votes in the first round of elections.
However, the military authorities of Egypt has a fear that as a result of democratic and free elections a new wave of discontent will be formed in regard to the decision of the Constitutional Court made two days ago. According to the decision, the results of parliamentary elections were annulled.
