Minister Temporarily Declined from PAP

The newly appointed Minister of Sports and Youth Issues Hrach Rostomyan released a statement.

“Sport has nothing to do with politics. When Armenian athletes become world and Europe medal winners we all feel proud irrespective of our party affiliation.

It is no secret that the recent years’ success of our sports life has been majorly connected with the support and activities of the Chairman of the Armenian Olympics Committee Gagik Tsarukyan.

I, as the secretary of the committee, am well aware of the done work and efforts.

Having been appointed Minister of Sports, I temporarily cease my membership to the Prosperous Armenia Party. This appointment is sport-related and has no connection with the party.

On the other hand, I’d like to say that if at some point Gagik Tsarukyan or the President of the country find my work unsatisfactory I will resign and return to PAP.”
