Signature Collection Campaign on Drainage Volumes of Lake Sevan
Armenia
As Ecolur reports, a signature collection campaign kicked off in the communities near lake Sevan in regard of the recommendation of increasing drainage volumes.
Reminder: The law defines that the maximum volume of drainage should be 170 million cubic meters. This limitation is stipulated by the requirement of having minimum water level of 1903,5 meters to restore the natural balance of the lake and to cease the swamping process.
Local NGOs have already expressed their alerts about this and meet with residents of local communities.
