Political Party Representatives on Harsnakar Incident
Armenia
The incident of Harsnakar restaurant has received quite a big public vocalism. Select representatives of political parties made statements but no political party (except the ANC) issued an official statement.
When speaking to Lurer.com ANC MP Aram Manukyan mentioned that how can they express opinion about every single crime in the country? “Crimes take place in the country every hour. The government of this country is fully buried in crime and it supports these criminals. The cause should be eliminated not the consequences,” noted Manukyan.
ARF representative Vahan Hovhannisyan mentioned that the answer of the question should be received from the regional committee or the Supreme Body and that ARF cannot make statements about everything. “That is not the function of a party,” said Hovhannisyan.
When speaking to a member of the Supreme Body Spartak Seyranyan the latter mentioned that select ARF members, just like the other party representatives, expressed their opinions about the incident.
Member of the Heritage party bureau Hovspep Khurshudyan told us that the problem is connected with the law-enforcement bodies and that they are still working on that. “We follow the developments. Of course, this is a very bad thing, just like any crime but I don’t know how expedient would it be for a party to make statements about every crime,” said Khurshudyan.
A PAP member Naira Zohrabyan said that she cannot say anything on behalf of the party because this matter wasn’t specifically discussed within the party. “Everyone should demonstrate his/her personal approach and I don’t think there is the need for party statements,” said Zohrabyan.
