Why are we Worse than Georgians? RA Citizens Alert from Customs Checkpoint
Armenia
Today in the morning, a citizen called Lurer.com and informed that the customs officers of Bagratashen created traffic jam without a reason.
Due to this, a reporter of Lurer.com took off to the Armenian-Georgian checkpoint. A while ago we had contacted our reporter and received details about this.
There is a big jam of vehicles arriving from Georgia in Armenia. There are approximately 40 vehicles near the customs checkpoint. The reporter of Lurer.com spoke with citizens, who claimed that the delays are artificially created. One of them told the reporter, “My mother has heart problems, we live in the nearby village but we can’t get rid of this traffic jam. She should immediately receive her medications.”
The majority of drivers assured that in the checkpoint of Georgia the inspections are held very quickly and no delays or jams are created. One of them added, “I’d ask you to write about this, make some noise, let the relevant bodies find solution to this. Let them answer how come the Georgian do everything so fast and they don’t create any problems. Yet in Armenia we face so many delays and difficulties. Why are we worse than the Georgians?”
Another angry driver added, “We are all tired of this. We want to leave this country and we will leave for sure because we don’t have any patience left. We are not their slaves. Do we demand much? How come Georgia was able to solve these issues and we are still walking on the same spot... They say there is migration but people abandon the country because of all these problems. We all live one life and want to live it meaningfully. We are hard-working and we don’t ask for alms. Let them at least abstain from complicating everything artificially. We will pay our clearance fees and the taxes.”
One more driver told us that there is another issue. In the neighboring Georgia, the passengers don’t get off their vehicles and in Armenia besides the driver all the passengers have to get out – children, seniors. They all get to wait till the inspection is complete. This needs to be stopped.
