Solution is Construction of New Customs Checkpoint
Armenia
Yesterday Lurer.com adverted to the complaints of citizens. The latter were claiming that traffic jam has been created in Bagratashen checkpoint without any reasons.
Lurer.com spoke with an associate of the border guard office, who explained that it’s wrong to compare the checkpoints of Georgia and Armenia because of the size of the buildings and capacities to serve a bigger number of customers. And the Armenian checkpoint doesn’t have that capacity, which creates traffic jams at times. The only solution would be if the government decided to construct a new checkpoint.
To the question as to why in Georgia passengers don’t get off their cars during inspections and the opposite happens on the Armenian side, he replied that it’s only a working style.
When speaking of the rude attitude of the customs officers and the complaints of citizens in this regard, he said that this should be unacceptable and promised to pass on the complaints to the management.
