Monuments Being Destroyed on Camera House Roof

Today at around 11:50 a.m. several citizens have warned on their Facebook pages that on the dome of the Camera House the sculptured monuments, the author of which Stepan Kyurkchyan are being destroyed by putting layers of cement on them.

As the founding-member of the “Save the Monuments” project Narek Ashughatoyan told us the monuments are covered with cement. After the meeting with the constructors it turned out that this is the joint project of the City Council and the constructing company.

At present, architect Stepan Kyurkchyan’s son is preparing photographs of the original look of the dome to discuss that with relevant bodies.

We tried to find out clarifications about this from the City Council, the associate of which Artur Sarukhanyan said that he had heard of this just now from us.
