Ombudsman Silent on Harsnakar Case
Armenia
The Ombudsman’s office was informed about the incident in Harsnakar restaurant from mass media. The head of the communications department of the Ombudsman’s office Naira Karmirshalyan informed Lurer.com about this.
As to the question whether the Ombudsman’s office is planning to make a statement condemning the incident, Karmirshalyan said no and added, “In the event of making a statement I think it should be a serious statement but as the case is still in the investigation phase and no one knows the details, I think it’s not the time to make populist statements.”
The latter also informed that by their initiative the Ombudsman’s office hasn’t met with the victims because the latter haven’t applied to them. “I think if the victims really needed the help of the Ombudsman they would apply by all means. If they haven’t then the process goes as it should.”
