Representatives of «Amnesty international» at RA National Assembly

The Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan met with Deputy Head of «Amnesty international» David Diaz Zhores and coordinator Natalya Nozadze.

Welcoming the guests Artak Zakaryan emphasized the importance of activities of international organizations in building sustainable democracy. Speaking about exercised changes, the head of committee informed that Armenia has had major success in the sphere of human rights, freedoms, free activities of mass media, social-political activeness for the last few years.

It was mentioned that human rights sphere continues to be in the center of attention of the RA authorities. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation with NGOs, Artak Zakaryan informed that 4th convocation of Parliament had memorandums with more than 100 NGOs, according to which NGO representatives took part in the sessions of standing committees, submitted various proposals, addressing issues in regard of human rights and freedoms.

David Diaz Zhores informed that the reason of the visit to Armenia is to study the spheres of human rights and freedom of speech.
The Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations mentioned that they are ready for cooperation and expressed hope that the studies about Armenia will be open and precise.
