Identity of Shooter of a City Council Member Disclosed

Based on the publication of Aravot daily in the framework of the criminal case launched in Shirak Police, the identity of the person, who shot at a city council member A. Khachatryan, was disclosed and a criminal case is underway.
During the preliminary investigation it was found out that for the purpose of clarifying the details of the argument between E. Grigoryan’s nephew – G. Grigoryan and a Gyumri resident A. Khachatryan the latter on June 10, 2012 with an Opel car belonging to a Gyumri resident A. Gomtsyan, drove in the direction of Spitak city.
E. Grigoryan, having followed A. Khachatryan’s Gaz 2402 vehicle, blocked the latter’s road and tried to stop his car but the Khachatryan refused to do so. At that time, Gomtsyan shot twice in the direction of Khachatryan’s vehicle with illegal weapon. As a result the car was damaged and the criminal fled.
Based on the attained evidence, on June 29 2012 Grigoryan was considered suspect of the criminal case based on first paragraph of Article 34-104 of Armenia’s penal code. His arrest warrant was issued and his search is underway.
