It is Franz Kafka’s Birthday Today

Writer Franz Kafka was born on July 3, 2012 in Prague. Kafka’s attraction towards creativity was obvious when we was 15, but during his lifetime he succeeded to publish only 3 stories, and none of them brought success to him. The idea that women with whom he was having affairs were with him only because of his father’s property followed him during all his lifetime.
Among the most famous stories of Kafka can be found: “The Castle”, “The Metamorphosis”, “Description of a Struggle”, “Before the Law”, “The Verdict”, “The Trial”, “A Hunger Artist” and etc.
In 1923-1924 Kafka’s health was shattering. Vacation in a sanatorium didn’t help him to recover. From time to time he was losing the ability to speak, and was not able to digest hard food.
On june 3, 1924 because of gradually weakening disease and bad eating Kafka passes away.
Kafka’s grave is in Jewish Cemetery in Strasnice, Prague.
