NA Speaker Receives Head of EU Delegation in Armenia

On July 3, RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the Head of the EU delegation In Armenia , Ambassador Traian Hristea.
Welcoming the Ambassador NA President noted with satisfaction that recently the Armenia-EU cooperation has significantly been intensified on both bilateral and multilateral formats. The high-level bilateral contacts with EU institutions as well as EU members have been activated. Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the EU- NA cooperation mentioning that the parliament is greatly interested in the deepening of the cooperation which will contribute to the success of the reform process going on in the country. Mr. Abrahamyan ensured the RA authorities’ political will and desire to see Armenia in the European family, among the democratic countries.
Ambassador Traian Hristea,head of the EU delegation in Armenia, mentioned that the European institutions apprize the cooperation with NA and Armenia. He is sure that NA has a big role in the success of democratic reforms in the country and in this context he highly appreciated Hovik Abrahamyan’s efforts to turn the parliament into a tribune of pluralism.
Referring to the upcoming visit of CE president to the region, the Ambassador mentioned that Armenia is the first of Eastern Partnership countries in a visit to Herman Van Rompuy. According to him the CE president’s visit interprets as European Union highly appreciates and stimulates the democratic reforms in Armenia and welcomes country's progress in that concern.
During the meeting other issues of mutual importance were also discussed.
