No Forest Left in Dilijan

Facebook user Gor Hovhannisyan writes on his page:
“Dear Ministry of Environmental Protection, RA nature lover Gor Ayzak Hovhannisyan is writing to you.
Taking into account the alarms made lots of times by our friends concerning illegal logging, we decided to visit there to see everything by our own eyes. We began to walk from Haghartsin, where in some places the polluted forests reminded scenario of Hollywood horror films.
But the control over your results became clear, when the second day we reached the woods on the summits of Idjevan and Hovq mountains. The forest there was completely eliminated. I hope that the state figures weren’t so naïve to permit to realize lumbering in the heart of virgin woods.”
But that’s not all. When we walked to the depths where we were afraid for a while to meet face to face with a wild bear, we came across with heavy equipment – URAL, tractor, UAZ and all of them were without plates. Maybe you’ve already guessed what they were doing – eating the forest, which you guard with all responsibility and get salary for that hard work from taxes we pay.
We asked then demanded documents. We didn’t receive any. Then we began to film all that and the camera was seized from our hands, the film was deleted and after that the camera was returned to us. By the way, all kind words that we said to each other while parting, maybe we should address to the kind and nature lover people in other sense of the word, which fall asleep at work and with all the possibility even have some share from the profit of the sold wood.
The third day we reached to Okon village. Sorry for mentioning the settlements, about which you only heard. The perfect symphony of electric saws could be heard from everywhere. I’m sure that you well know the conductor of that music, otherwise it couldn’t be heard so loudly and bravely in nearby woods of the well-known Lastiver resort.
Not to make you sick, maybe people like me have done the same. In short, I want to express my deepest gratefulness to all of YOU for perfect fulfillment of the job.”
