New Suggestions for Life Sentenced Prisoners' Problems

The Helsinki Committee President in Armenia Avetiq Ishkhanyan and a member of a civil initiative on matters of life sentenced prisoners Zaruhi Muradyan had a meeting with journalists today. The public speakers came with suggestions addressed to state authorities concerning matters of life sentenced prisoners.

The suggestions are the following:
• Legislative changes; regime change from close to semi-close, then to semi-open
• Rise of age for life sentenced prisoners up to 21
• Renewal of cases of life sentenced prisoners
• Working out of a distinguished mechanism of life sentence service and conditional early release
The political powers were suggested to discuss the above mentioned issues and present their own suggestions, and to the creative unions it was suggested to join the action “CDs for life sentenced prisoners”, by donating kind, deep, nice films, teaching, cognitive documentaries, high-quality music CDs.
