Indians Ban Marrying for Love
World
A very odd law was adopted in Asara Village. They banned the inhabitants of the village to marry for love. According to the local authorities, marriage out of romantic motives is a shame. The couple can even be expelled from the village forever for this action, reports BBC.
Adoption of such an absurd law can be connected with the fact that the majority of the population of Asara village is just 40 kilometers away from Delhi, are radical Muslims. According to one of the authors of the initiative, such kind of marriages discredit the youth, especially girls, which “disgrace the whole family.”
The councillors often make decisions opposing the legislation of the country in Indian villages. Irrespective of the fact, that their decisions don’t have a constitutional power but, but inhabitants of small villages unconditionally obey them, even in the cases when the councillors doomed to death this or that girl for her immoral behavior.
As for Asara village the councillors banned 40 year-old women use mobile phones and go out if not accompanied by a man or parents. And all this is exclusively done for the purpose of security of the fair sex, state the village councilors.
However, the Indian authorities don’t encourage such manifestations of care.
