This is an Obscenity, we Won’t Leave our Friend in Jail: Aram Manukyan

In defense of political prisoner ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan there will be acts both by the ANC and the ANM. This was said to Lurer.com by NA MP, ANC representative Aram Manukyan and he also added that they are ready to defend Tigran Arakelyan by means of those acts.
“This is manifestation of obscenity by the authorities. We expected them to have some wisdom, but if they are doing their actions, we won’t leave our friend in jail”, Manukyan said.
He also stated that their delegation came from Tbilisi the day before.
“There were meetings with South Caucasus liberal political forces, where the issue of political prisoners was touched upon. We have arrangements with three political forces, irrespective of the fact in which country they are, they defend interests of political prisoners. In this case we’ll make use of all the opportunities to see Tigran Arakelyan freed both in Armenia and beyond Armenia”, said he.
According to Manukyan, if authorities continue displaying this kind of approach, they have wide range of opportunities to apply to international bodies to raise international noise.
“Let me also note that just 15-20 days ago under the international pressure some political prisoners were set free in Azerbaijan. We met those political prisoners also in Tbilisi. In short, if the authorities continue acting by means of such tough methods, we’ll use ours”, concluded Manukyan.
To remind you, a few days ago in the court of first instance of Kentron and Nor Nork Districts Prosecutor Hakob Martirosyan gave his accusatory speech on case of ANC activists Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kirminjyan.
The Prosecutor demanded 6 years for Tigran Arakelyan, the mitigating circumstance for Artak Karapetyan was the fact of having a minor child and the Prosecutor demanded imprisonment of 3 years 5months and 19 days.
According to the Prosecutor Sargis Gevorygyan should be imprisoned for 1 year 11 months and 20 days and David Kirminjyan for 2 years.
The Prosecutor stated that the charges are reasoned.
