Kofi Annan Supports the Proposal of Convening an "Action Group"

UN and Arab League special representative Kofi Annan supports Russia’s proposal, including Iran and Saudi Arabia, for once again convening an “Action Group” concerning the issue of Syria. Sergey Lavrov, Russia Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced about this to journalists, speaking of the outcome of negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Kofi Annan, that took place on Tuesday.
"We once again said, that in any case is to right to correct omission, when in Geneva (the previous meeting) Saudi Arabia and Iran were not invited,” Lavrov said.
Thus, The Minister doubts whether the other countries are ready for such a meeting: “I do not know for how much our Western partners are ready for it, because they are still doing their best for the agreement not to be approved in the UN Security Council, they are trying to impose something around which they did not come to an agreement,” said Lavrov, however, in his opinion, it would not hurt to speak once again.
