Karen Arayan’s (who is being accused in the case of Angela Sargsyan’s scandalous photos) mother, Marina Arayan, launched her own channel on YouTube, where she will regularly report on the process of the case.
In the interview published today she reports that the investigation of the case has faced a deadlock in the court : in “Nubarashen” penal institution Arayan sewed his mouth and declared a termless hunger strike.
Arayann thus expresses its protest against the illegal imprisonment and the submitted groundless accusation against him. Moreover, Arayan has sent an open letter from prison to the President of Armenia, Prosecutor General, the Ombudsman, the Minister of Justice and the NA chairman.
The letter reads: “I am, Karen Arayan, being groundlessly accused in spreading actress Angela Sargsyan’s pornographic photo and disclosing her family secret, with 144rd article and the 1st section of 263rd article of RA Criminal Code. The whole accusation is based on fake proofs and on wrongly qualified facts. I claim that it was done by Angela Sargsyan, but until now even her computer has not been examined. I don’t recognize me as guilty and I’m not going to, because I haven’t transferred and showed any pornographic photo, by any way, to anyone.
The court is not even able to apprehend the witnesses to the sessions, and it’s already the 5th month, that the trial is being postponed and is not being processed. My intercessions of reversing the detention and shortening the case have been rejected. And from the 5th of October 2011 until now I’m in an illegal detention. Thus I’ve sewed my mouth from today and I declare a termless hunger strike. I demand to restore the justice. I’ll leave the hunger strike at the moment I’m free.”
In the videp Marina Arayan declare that she is signing his son’s letter.
