Armenian-Iranian Economic Relations were Negotiated

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed AmbassadorExtraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Armenia Mohammad Reisi. Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming office, the Prime Minister wished him fruitful work. "We highly appreciate Armenian-Iranian relations and we are obliged to make efforts, for them, to continue to develop, expand and strengthen. It is in the interests of the two nations,” said Tigran Sargsyan.
The Prime Minister mentioned that Armenian-Iranian joint projects are in the center of attention of the government, and Armenia is determined to lead them to their logical end.
The Ambassador congratulated the Minister on the victory of the RPA in the parliamentary elections and conveyed the Prime Minister the warm greetings of Iranian First Vice-president Mohammad Reza Rahimi. Mohammad Reisi stressed that Iran pays great importance to the relations with Armenia and expressed readiness to implement all the necessary efforts, for the further development.
The sides expressed the belief, that irrelevant of the bilateral trade increase, there is great potential of expansion.
Touching upon the Armenian-Iranian cooperation in large programs, it was noted, that soon the constructions of Meghri hydroelectric power station, oil canals, Iranian-Armenian third high-voltage power transmission line will enter the practical stage.
The interlocutors also discussed other projects of mutual interest, particularly the cooperation in the fields of jewellery, pharmacy, cattle-breeding were considered perspective. The sides stressed the importance of the programs promoting tourism and the Armenian-Iranian cooperation in interregional development.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the balanced position of the Iranian authorities on conflict resolution of Nagorno Karabagh, which contributes to the regional stability.
