“Freedom to ANC Activists” Protest Began

Right now the participants of the protest – representatives of civil public, gathered in front of the Prosecutor’s Office , which complain of the verdict sentenced on July 20 in court of first instance of Kentron and Nork Marash administrative districts. The court sentenced ANC activists Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Qirmijyan from 2 to 6 years of imprisonment with a false accusation. Activist Naira Hovhannisyan declared demands of the initiative.
ANC MP Nikol Pashinyan expressed his discontent at the protest:

“When we talk of the freedom of the four guys, the authorities should feel that none of us is afraid of sitting in prison, no verdict will terrify us, the verdict of guys is addressed to us, and prison isn’t the threat that can stop us. It doesn’t mean that each of us is ready to become a criminal, but is ready to sit as will sit the non-guilty guys. There are political prisoners in Armenia, and Serzh Sargsyan is ready to have political prisoners. Serzh, we are ready to become a political prisoner,” he said.
