Battered Daughter-in-law with Ex-Husband?
Society
On July 21, Mariam Gevorgyan's ex-husband David Ziroyan was seen coming out of a hotel in the village of Gosh, Tavush region, with his former wife Meline Bayatian, who, if you recall, along with Mariam, initially pressed charges of cruel and abusive treatment at the hands of both David and his mother, Haykanush Mikaelyan. This information was spread by Women's Support Center, a member of the Coalition to stop violence against Women and appeared with protection of Mariam Gevorgyan.
“One of the volunteers of Coalition to stop violence against women noticed David and Meline together. They got off dark blue Opel (plate numbers 33VO506) and entered Mkhitar Gosh hotel, which is situated in Gosh village, Tavush region. This is very suspicious and supposedly David intends to mislead the court”, reads the statement.
Let’s hope that the center didn’t confuse heroes of its statement, and it won’t lead to deterioration.
It was earlier reported that Meline was badly treated and subjected to violence by David and his mother Haykanush Mikaelyan. Haykanush is currently under police custody and is named as the accused in the case currently in court. But at the preliminary inquest Meline took back some of the accusations and now there are rumors that David decided to remarry Meline after the trial.
To remind you, currently the trial is in process in the court of general jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces.
The couple got married in 2009, then moved to St. Petersburg, where at that time was living David’s family. 10 months later Mariam came back to Yerevan and applied to the Police. David Chiroyan has been charged with the articles on causing damage and beating, but was released by amnesty.
Until this day David’s mother has been charged with Article 113 (2) (5) of the RA Criminal Code (causing critical but satisfactory damage to health) and Article 119 (2) (6) (cruel torture).
