RA President Meets the Scholarship Students of "Light" Foundation

Today President Serzh Sargsyan met with the scholarship students of "Light" foundation. The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The President congratulated the scholarship students of 2012-2013 academic year of the "Light" for the admission to the world's best higher education institutions and for winning the scholarship of the foundation, wished them success in life and learning, emphasizing that our success starts from the success of each individual.
The President stressed the importance of the foundation’s work towards strengthening the communication between alumni of the “Light” foundation and the newly admitted students. The President stressed that the collective force is more powerful than everyone’s power and potential taken separately.
Serzh Sargsyan also stressed the importance of the aspirations of young people in developing projects in Armenia and the practical application of the received abilities and knowledge in the homeland. My meetings with young scholarship students of “Luys” foundation has become traditional, and frankly speaking, are inspiring. These meetings prove every time that, regardless of the fact where the Armenian youth is in the world, it is strongly bounded with the homeland,” President Serzh Sargsyan said.
According to the head of the Republic, the educational aim of the “Luys” educational program is very simple, to ease the world's scientific achievements and the possessing and make it available for our people, thus to serve that achievements to our people, that is to say, to localize in Armenia, in Armenian colonies, then to contribute to global civilization and to the development of science. “Since the establishing of Armenian State, we’ve many young people to study in the world’s educational centers, w and that millennia-long process had a serious contribution in the development of culture, science, education and civilization in general.
I am glad that in the present conditions the number of our young people in the world's best educational institutions is growing. When we started this project, several dozen young men were studying at the world's top twenty universities. Thanks God, this year only, 126 young people have been admitted to the world's top ten universities, 74 continues the education from the last year. We have a total of 200 students, 90 of whom are from Armenia; that is, we already have a good and serious presence, with which we can be proud. I want you to be confident and assure all those young people who have the desire and the opportunity to receive knowledge in the world's best scientific and educational centers: we will do our best for the expansion of “Luys” educational foundation. We see the future of Armenia in this as well,” said the president and stressed that the “Luys” foundation consistently follows the further course of the scholarship students and is ready to do its best to assist them.
During the meeting, the scholarship students of the Foundation presented their works carried out in the frames of “Luys”’s “Let’s Develop Armenia” project, discussed the opportunities of realization of other projects and initiatives. Serzh Sargsyanalso talked to the students about issues of their interest. In the end of the meeting , the president awarded the newly admitted students with certificates of the scholarship of ‘Luys” foundation.
