Organizers of the 2012 London Olympics turned off the Olympic flame for a few hours because it was to be transferred to other corner of the Olympic Stadium.
The Olympic flame was turned off on Sunday evening and it was lit again on Monday morning, informs Agence France-Presse. The flame was kept in a special lamp.
To note, the Olympic flame which comprises many petal-shaped copper stems was lit by seven young people.
At the opening ceremony the Olympic flame was in the center of the stadium, but to organize the games the organizers had to transfer it.
The new location of the Olympic flame gave rise to much criticism as far as from the outer side of the stadium the flame is not seen (generally the Olympic flame is seen outside the stadium).
